Similar to the preceding title, Guitar Hero World Tour, Guitar Hero 5 is geared towards playing in a four-person band experience, including lead and bass guitar, drums, and vocals. The game is available as a standalone title, allowing players to use existing compatible instrument controllers, and as a bundle that provides these controllers. Accepted Answer. PS3 guitars won't work on the PS2 games because the wireless guitars hook into the USB ports on the PS2 and the game only registers a controller if it is one of the two controller ports. Backwards Compatibility: Rock Band and Guitar Hero. I just purchased an Xbox One this week after learning that Xbox 360 games are now backwards compatible. I decided to also upgrade all of my Guitar Hero/Rock Band equipment to the new Xbox One hardware since my Xbox 360 guitar and drum controllers are like 6 years old.
Guitar Hero: World Tour 360 has compatibility with all previous guitar hero titles. All Rock Band instruments, including the guitar, bass, drums, and microphone, can be used with Guitar Hero: World Tour 360.
No, the guitar is incompatible with the drum dongle. You need the guitar dongle, which has a guitar head icon on it, and if you buy the World Tour model (sunburst faceplate) it should have model number 95451.806, I believe. Any other PS3 guitar will work with World Tour, however, as long as you have the appropriate dongle for that guitar.
