Hello everyone, I am having an engine issue with my golf mk5 1.9 tdi bxe engine. Has these symptoms: 1.Hard cold start and hot start. 2.White smoke for some seconds while starting cold. 3.Bad smell. 4.Rough idle (shaking and loud also while revving) And i came into a conclusion that it might be an injector seal issue.
Induction pipe collapse mk5 1.9tdi 105ps. I have an issue with my intake hose collapsing flat when revving. It is creating quite a vacuum. I have been told the turbo is U/S but I struggle to believe that a seized turbo could block the air intake.
Any sensor problem could also be caused by a bad ground or broken/chaffed wire so also check every section of the wiring of the suspect sensor for breaks. More common causes of low power on TDI. 1. Bad MAF sensor - very likely cause on the mk4 TDI. Not common on the mk3 TDI (1996-1999 Jetta/Passat).

Check that your cam Vernier did not slip or move out of time. Common fault for the 1.9 TDI engines for long cranking and no start problems. Scan the car regardless of no check engine light. Check ignition relay, check fuses. Remove the intercooler pipe going to intake and try starting.
